I have been a Governor for the school since 2001 and have been the Leader of the Pre-school in Tingewick since 2000 working with children from 2 to rising 5 and my role as a Governor means that I still see the children and families once they start school.
I trained as a teacher in the late 1970’s and on leaving college went to work for the Home Office, Immigration and Nationality Department in Croydon. I then took up an appointment as an Immigration Officer at Dover Eastern Docks, transferring to Terminal 3 Heathrow in 1986. I took a career break in 1996 in order that we could move to Tingewick to care for my husband’s elderly aunt, and subsequently left the service.
I have a special interest in Special Educational Needs as I have a daughter with Downs’ Syndrome.
