Wing Cross Country 19.3.2016

Again, another cold day on a hill. Marvellous! Thank you to all children and parents who braved the winds and came out on Saturday morning to compete in the District Cross Country Championships. The course is known for being tough and I was particularly impressed with how all the children got round in one piece, some slightly more battered than others. Well done to Aimee Taylor for coming 3rd and Thomas Woodham for coming 10th in their races. This year we did not have enough numbers to qualify as a team but all children should be very proud of their achievements. Well done.

Dance Extravaganza Final - 18.3.2016

Well done to all the children who performed in the Dance Extravaganza final on Friday evening. As in the heats, the children performed brilliantly and were a pleasure to take to represent the school. At the announcement stage, we were informed that the judges wanted to announce joint winners. Unfortunately this was overruled as there was only one trophy to be given. We therefore accepted second place gracefully and are not at all bitter!!! All the children should be very proud of their efforts. Well done.

Year 5 BISI Badminton

On Tuesday 15th March, 12 children from Year 5 took part in the BISI Badminton Tournament. The boys that took part were Lias Butcher, Liam Harris, William Houghton-Brown, Charlie Field, Charlie Sheldrake and Harri Beale-Durrand. The girls that took part were Emmeline Tucker, Kate Wheble, Amelia Cross, Aimee Ridgway, Velvet Birch and Rosie Smith. We played against St James and St Johns which we played first, Buckingham Primary we played last. Grenville, we played third and Steeple Claydon which we played second. The girls won all of their matches apart from one and the boys drew one. Overall, 1st was Steeple Claydon, 2nd was Grenville, 3rd was Buckingham Primary, 4th was St James and St Johns and we came 5th. We still had a great time even though we came 5th. Also we each got a medal and a certificate for taking part.
